European Patent Office Fee Increases from April 2024

In our latest update from the European Patent Office (EPO), there’s a notable adjustment across the board in official fees. It’s important to highlight that while many fees remain unchanged, a select few have seen minor increases, around the 4% mark. There is a significant rise in renewal fees for patents in their 3rd to 5th year, which are experiencing hikes ranging from 8% to a substantial 30%. On a brighter note, the 6th-year renewal fee has actually decreased by 2%.
