TRINITI advised ALPA Kids on a successful capital raising

TRINITI advised internationally operating Estonian startup ALPA Kids on raising an investment of over €1 million. The funding round was led by Skaala Impact, with participation from European angel investors and the European Social Innovation and Impact Fund, in addition to a grant from the Enterprise and Innovation Foundation.

ALPA Kids, which develops playful and culturally adapted multilingual digital learning games and other learning solutions, is a fast-growing education and technology startup whose products have already reached 2.5 million children in more than 170 countries and are used by over 500 educational institutions. ALPA Kids’ goal is to bring high-quality, culturally adapted learning content to children worldwide, providing support to both teachers and parents.

“Although ALPA Kids is already profitable, we saw great growth and expansion potential in the team,” said Kelly Lilles, co-founder and CEO of ALPA Kids, emphasizing that ALPA Kids’ success is built on a strong community and partners who help bring solutions to new markets.

TRINITI advised ALPA Kids on all matters related to raising capital, including the preparation of all transaction documents. The TRINITI team included associate partner Valter Võhma, senior associates Peeter P. Mõtsküla and Maarja Lehemets, patent attorney Maria Silvia Martinson and junior associate Peeter Paju. “TRINITI is very pleased to have been able to contribute to the success story of Estonian educational innovation and to support ALPA Kids on their global growth path,” said Valter Võhma. The collaboration between TRINITI and ALPA Kids continues, with TRINITI supporting the education company on the legal aspects of creating an international children’s spoken language corpus.

The new investment will support ALPA Kids’ plans to expand into at least four new markets, grow its user base to five million children, and further develop technological solutions, including Robo-Alpa, a verbal chatbot for non-English-speaking children.
